New Year Greetings

 


Happy New Year to you All.


I think it's fair to say that 2020 was a very different year for us all and one that we are glad to be leaving behind.


That said though, 2020 certainly wasn't all bad. I for one have enjoyed the more relaxed pace of life we were afforded in lock downs, allowing time to reflect and appreciate the smaller things in life and value those close to me even more so.


On New Years Eve, I was also very much reminded that we can't take anything for granted in this life. Jane Mann, our former leader and a good friend and inspirational, role model to many of you reading this, posted an emotional New Year message on Facebook as she enters 2021 having been given a devastating, terminal cancer diagnosis.


Her message to us all is to stop and think about what we have and to be incredibly grateful that we have a new and fresh year to look forward to...

This isn't meant to make you sad as Jane doesn't want that. But what she wants is for us to always show gratitude and kindness and to always look on the bright side of life!


Can I hear a 'Yes Jane!' to that? Let's follow her remarkable lead heading into 2021.

So what can you expect in January?


Well despite us now being in Tier 4, meaning no Face to Face classes are currently possible, I plan to bring you an action packed timetable of classes once again 'online' throughout January. I've even added a couple of new classes into the mix to give you something to look forward to and to challenge your bodies (and minds) in new and exciting ways!


1st Up...



After 2, really successful, Taster sessions of Fitsteps Tone back in November I'm now launching Fitsteps Tone as a NEW Monday afternoon session throughout January, starting on Mon 11th Jan. The classes are just 45mins long and will be from 2-2.45pm on ZOOM. (Cost £3.60)


Think of it as a regular Fitsteps class (with latin and ballroom dances as the basis) but slowed right down, allowing you to work more on balance, functional training and upper body strength.


All that is required is space, a small circular resistance band and a good night's sleep beforehand (as many fed back how it had made them think more).

Also new to online.....


Barre Pilates makes it's debut appearance with a FREE, 45minute, Taster session on Friday 8th Jan @ 11am on Zoom.


Focusing on strength, posture and flexibility, Barre Pilates uses slow, controlled movements in standing, whilst supported by a ballet bar (or a chair/work surface) to give you measurable results.


There's certainly no running or jumping but you'll definitely get a sweat on in this class.

Back after a short break....


Wednesday evening, mixed ability, mat based Pilates sessions are set to return 8-9pm on ZOOM.


It's been a while since we saw some of the regular, evening pilates crew so here's hoping that we can persuade you back with a fantastic 4 week January deal at a discounted price of just £12 for the full 4 weeks...

(Please note these sessions are only available to book as a block).


Sessions start on Wednesday 6th January, ending on Wednesday 27th and can booked and paid for on gymcatch.com


Suitable for anyone with some experience in pilates. You will require your own mat and access to a long resistance band is recommended.



 

All your other, favourite weekly sessions (Burn 'n' Firm, Fitsteps, Monday am Pilates and Body Blast) will continue to run throughout January on ZOOM at their usual times. Whether you're a member of one or many classes at Class Fitness, your health and well being is important to me. Therefore (you may not be aware of this) we have a private 'FREE' Class Fitness 'members' support group available for you to join, for as long as you are an active member of classes.


In here, not only do you get motivational tips on diet and exercise from me, but more importantly the support of fellow members who understand.


This month I will be kickstarting the New Year in the group by giving you a fitness test and daily exercises to do to improve your results as well as guiding you towards some positive, healthy eating, regimes to loosen off the 'lockdown load'.
