Summer Vibes...
Happy 1st of July Folks!
Great that the sun is shining to mark the new month too- long may it continue. Did I read somewhere we might even be getting a heat wave in July? Hope so.. Bring it on!
So as summer is now well upon us and life is gradually returning to some sort of new 'normal' let me quickly tell you about the Class Fitness plans for July and August.....
Mainly....
There are going to be a few changes to the timetable over the summer months.
First up, as is always the case over the school holidays, the main change is that 'pilates' classes will be taking a break for summer. This year this will include both of the Zoom timetabled classes (Mon pilates and Fri Barre Pilates) as well as the community classes. This means that from July 19th through to the beginning of September you will not see pilates classes appear on the gymcatch timetable (this is deliberate!)
But for the next 2 weeks, please 'do' book into your regular pilates classes as usual (apart from our Wednesday evening class, which unfortunately due to low numbers we have had to close earlier than the other sessions).
Secondly, as St Columbas Church Hall has now stopped providing vaccine services, we are set to return to this venue for Tuesday morning Burn 'n' Firm classes from Tuesday July 20th. Please note though that this class will continue to start at 9.30am by popular demand. And if Boris gives us the all clear on July 19th ...please do join us for celebratory refreshments at 10.30am on the 20th!
Thirdly, there will be NO CLASSES running at all, weeks commencing Aug 9th or 16th as I take my annual holidays.
So this is the limited timetable you can expect from W/C 19th July to the end of August apart from the two week break indicated above:
As is now usual practice (and set to continue post COVID restrictions) please book and pay for your places in class via gymcatch https://app.gymcatch.com/provider/1469/events
Remember you always have the option of cancelling a booking up to 2 hours before a session and still be eligible for a refund!
And please be aware...there are cut off points before classes where you will no longer be able to book into your chosen class (so we can check who is due and make sure all health and well-being details are up to date). For community pilates classes this is 2 hours before sessions start, for all other classes 1 hour.
BUT... please don't let the lack of LIVE classes over summer put you off your 'fitness' stride.
We have archives of recorded classes from the past 16 months all at your disposal and available to use 'on demand' via our 2 private Facebook groups:
To access these private groups, please buy the appropriate 'month' package from gymcatch.
On purchase, you will receive a friend request from Di Harris on Facebook and subsequently will be invited to your chosen group.
Here you can log into the page as and when you like and choose your preferred style class by scrolling through them all, listed as 'topics'
There's no limit on how many you do and you can choose where and when you work out (take them on holiday with you?!)
For pilates in particular they are a great way to keep up your practice whilst community classes take a breather.
A couple of requests to finish on....
When completing your gymcatch bookings, please don't skip over the request to complete an updated health questionnaire.
It is vital that we have current records on file for you and evidence of your consent to workout with us.
If you are worried about accessing an online version of the form, please do let us know so that we can forward a printed version instead.
And finally....
Since re-opening our community venues it has been wonderful to see many of our loyal members return and to have the opportunity to welcome along a number of new faces. Thank you to each and every one of you who has joined us!
However, in these continued uncertain times, it is apparent that not all of our regular clients are either willing or able to currently return to classes.
This leaves us in a bit of a pickle....
We need to book and pay for premises to hold classes and therefore they need to be financially viable if they are to remain open. I'd really love to say that money is not a factor...however as with all small businesses ours has been hit pretty hard these past 12months or so.
So can you help spread the word about our classes?
Word of mouth is always THE BEST way of getting like minded folks on board, so if you love your class, please, Please, PLEASE tell your friends about it and encourage them along.
Also, perhaps you could spare time to leave Class Fitness a positive review on Google or via our Class Fitness Facebook Page?
Come September I will also have some new fliers etc ....so be prepared I'll be asking for helpers to get these up in shops/workplaces/community centres etc.
It would be great to get the classes full and vibrant once more, so please do everything you can to help.
Many thanks and hope to see you in class soon.
Di x
